Stephen Criddle became Principal of South Devon College in September 2009. South Devon College is an Ofsted Outstanding and LSIS Beacon College catering for around 12,000 further and higher education students each year from age 14 upwards.
Born in Birkenhead, he attended school there before studying Geography at Oxford University. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant, he worked in industry before joining the Education Sector in 1992.
Stephen is passionate about the role of South Devon College in the local community, encouraging aspiration and opportunity for high quality vocational and technical education. He is a sponsor member of the Devon Studio School and is delighted to bring governance and wider community involvement to this great partnership initiative.
As well as his initial and ongoing involvement with the Devon Studio School, new ventures in partnership with local employers include a University Technical College as well as planned direct enrolment of 14 year old full time learners in September 2014.
