Our SEN (Special Educational Needs) team aims to assist all coaches to ensure students with special educational needs are successfully and fully included and that they make progress in line with their ability.
We believe that students’ special educational needs can be best met in mainstream classes alongside their peers. All young people have individual needs and an individual approach enhances learning in every classroom.
We emphasise challenge in learning activities and our Learning and Personal Coaches know to have high expectations of every student, whilst at the same time giving them the confidence and skills to achieve. We advocate a personalised approach to learning, and adapt our teaching to the different ways students learn.
We recognise that providing effective personalised learning is challenging, not least when a student’s needs appear to present significant barriers to learning.
Our team aims to provide a high quality support service to our staff and students to assist in removing potential barriers to learning, enabling all students to become independent, responsible and successful learners whatever their abilities, skills and talents.
